Non-fiction Writing Workshop (online)
This Thursday and Next Thursday, 3 - 5 pm Nigeria time
Do you write essays (narrative/analytical/experimental), memoirs, artist statements, or any other forms of creative non-fiction and would like to workshop a piece of writing?
Do you find yourself wondering, “What is the point of this thing I am writing (or reading)? What am I really trying to say?”
Do you want to become a more effective writer and explorer of ideas and stories?
Join the first Studio Styles non-fiction writing workshop where we will be exploring 'the point'. How do we get to the point? Who has the point? Should the point even exist?
Facilitator:
Immaculata Abba is a writer, researcher and artist whose work has been published widely on Nigerian and international platforms such as The Guardian, The Republic, Le Temps (Switzerland) and The Brooklyn Rail (USA). In 2022, she was a writer-in-residence at the Library of Africa & The African Diaspora, a senior editor at Tech Cabal, and her essay on Africapitalism was selected as one of The Republic's Best of Economics Writing. Her work was recently longlisted for the 2023 Wasafiri Life Writing Prize. She has a master’s degree in History from the University of Oxford.
